Purple, Turquoise and a lil’ DIY

School teacher bride Ashley certainly put her crafting skills to use for her June wedding in London, Ontario. With a unique colour palette of purple and turquoise no detail was overlooked when it came to incorporating her theme. From the stationary elements to the handmade table numbers and favours, this bride had DIY down to a science.

Since her colour scheme was a little out of  the ordinary Ashley wanted a little something different for her florals. Blue dendrobium orchids just happened to match the turquoise and royal purple colour scheme perfectly so we used them in abundance.

The bridal bouquet was a mix of tinted hydrangea, lavender roses, purple lisianthis and those stunning blue orchids. The bridesmaids kept it simpler with bouquets of hydrangea, roses and lisianthis is varying purple shades.

The eye popping orchids were used in the arrangements decorating the small chapel in south London where the ceremony took place.

Reception decor centered around the same blue orchids wired onto curly willow branches that almost reached the ceiling of the West Haven Golf & Country Club. Globes of royal purple carnations were nestled in the branches and appeared to almost float over the table. Strung crystals hung from the branches to add a little touch of sparkle.

During set up, the staff kept remarking how it was the prettiest wedding they had seen at the club so far, a testament to Ashley’s attention to detail. Best wishes to the happy couple Ashley & Scott!
