Sometimes you just have to embrace a design detail. In this case it was the coral coloured walls of St. Lawrence Hall in downtown Toronto, which was to be the venue for Pushpa & Christian’s intimate wedding. Rather than try to offset or compete with the room colour the couple was willing to embrace the coral and the result was simply stunning.
Preferring simple and sleek designs, we choose to highlight the bride’s favorite flowers in cheerful shades of coral & yellow. Groupings of cabbage roses, gerbera daisies & dahlias lined the aisle amidst colourful rose petals. Two large arrangements of hydrangea, cabbage roses, gerbera daisies & dahlias flanked the altar and framing the space.
Since the ceremony and reception were taking place in the same room, we had to complete a full room flip while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Round guest tables featured a centerpiece of single groupings of coral cabbage roses, yellow gerbera daisies, and coral dahlias. Floating candles with submerged mokara orchids added a touch of light.
The wow factor to this room became the enormous 32 person gallery table, situated in the center of the room. The large ceremony arrangements grounded the table while groupings of the single flower arrangements and mixed low arrangements of roses, dahlias and mokara orchids filled in the rest of the space. More floating candles with submerged mokara orchids added just the right touch of candlelight.
This wedding is a great example of how you can work with any venue or any detail you fall in love with. Embrace the unique and let your wedding pro’s guide you to a wonderful execution. Best wishes to the happy couple!
