This special wedding for a good friend from high school meant it was even more important for the flowers to be perfect. Having known the bride, Nicole, for over 10 years I had to make sure to use our consultations for more than just chatting and reminiscing! But Nicole has always been easy going and we has a great time selecting a palette or yellow, ivory and soft grey to compliment her beautiful venue, The Estates at Sunnybrook.
For her Bridal bouquet we combined soft ivory hydrangea with full yellow and butter cream roses, yellow spray roses and yellow craspedia (aka. billy balls). Bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets of hydrangea and roses which set off their grey dresses and matched their yellow shoes perfectly!
A variety of boutonnieres were created for the men: Yellow Roses for the Groomsmen, Craspedia for the Groom and white orchids for the Fathers.
Both the ceremony and reception took place at the The Estates of Sunnybrook. The patio ceremony featured a breathtaking stone staircase from which the bridal party entered. Lined with pretty lanterns, it made for a beautiful effect. Two arrangements full of hydrangea and roses in grey stone containers framed the altar.
The reception room had butter cream coloured walls so the florals set off the room and created a warm intimate space. Trios of multi level stone containers were filled with more hydrangea and roses in shades of yellow. We also designed a piece in a yellow vintage watering can that the bride found at a flea market for the receiving table.
We were so happy to take part in Nicole and John’s special day. Much love and best wishes to the happy couple on a long and happy marriage!
