When we met with Heather Jo to design her wedding flowers we knew she’d be a treat to work with. She was so sweet that we actually spent a few extra hours chatting at her house during our first meeting! It’s always a good sign when you loose track of time 🙂
Heather Jo decided on royal purple as her colour with accents of turquoise for interest, mostly because of the beautiful dendrobium orchids she fell in love with. For her bouquet, she wanted to stick with classic all white and sparkle so we created a bouquet with full white roses and rhinestone centered stephanotis blooms. The rhinestone centers added just the right amount of sparkle to compliment her gown’s rhinestone belt.
The bridesmaids wore royal purple cocktail dresses so we combined ivory hydrangea with lavender roses, dark purple lisianthis and blue dendrobium orchids. Tied with dark purple satin ribbon the bouquets contrasted beautifully against the dresses and the turquoise centered orchids gave an unexpected pop of colour.
The groomsmen (and groomswoman) and ring bearers all wore single white rose boutonnieres. Their royal purple ties matched the dresses perfectly!
Both the ceremony and reception took place at Hender Winery in Niagara on the Lake. The rustic stone walls and wood beams in the reception room gave a cozy and laid back feel to the space. Simple low arrangements of white hydrangea, purple lisianthis and blue dendrobium orchids were the centerpieces surrounded by glass votives wrapped with purple ribbon, each with a purple LED light instead of candle. Two tall arrangements of hydrangea, roses and orchids flanked the head table, atop wine barrels.
It was such a joy working with Heather Jo on this wedding and she was so grateful on the big day. Best of luck to the happy couple!
