Loving Blue Thistle at Eglinton Grand

We love a bride who knows what she wants but also takes the opinions of her professionals into consideration. Bride Laura had no problem telling us her vision but also trusting us since she was planning her Toronto wedding from Ottawa in less than a month! Choosing a palette of navy blue and gold we designed her florals around a flower she fell for once we showed her; blue thistle.

Laura’s bridal bouquet was a gorgeous combination of white peonies, blush garden roses, roses, lisianthis, blue thistle and dusty miller. An elaborate wrap of navy satin ribbon trimmed with gold crystals finished the look.

Bridesmaids carried small bouquets of peonies, roses and thistle. We added a touch of gold by placing clusters of gold pearls in the center of the roses.

The ceremony took place in upstairs room at The Eglinton Grand. We lined the aisle with white manzita trees accented with mums, blush roses and more thistle. Strings of crystals added a touch of sparkle.

The reception room was set with both round and rectangular tables. The round tables featured a white lampshade trimmed with navy ribbon set atop a tall glass vase. Surrounding its base were small bud vases of mums, blush roses and thistle and gold mercury votive candles. Rectangular tables had trios of gold mercury vases filled with hydrangea, roses, lisianthss and thistle. Clusters of floating candles added a soft glow to the dramatically lit room.

The head table had more clusters of floating candles with fresh blooms at the bases and more arrangements in gold mercury vases. Bouquets were added to the mix to fill in spaces and made for a beautiful long table.

We were so happy to help create this beautiful wedding for a lovely couple in such a short space of time. It turned out wonderfully and we wish the happy couple a long love filled marriage.
