Perfect Pink & Green for a Local Affair

When we were first contacted by bride Stephanie, we quickly learned that she wanted her wedding to the love of her life to utilize as much local talent and details as possible. Having grown up in Markham myself her wedding taking place at The Markham Museum with reception at a local main street restaurant was immediately appealing. Apparently I was just appealing to her for the same reason! We got to work designing a beautiful set of flowers featuring a variety of pretty pinks and fresh green for this early summer wedding that we think turned out perfectly!

For her bridal bouquet we combined soft pink and fuchsia roses with white peonies, pink spray roses, green viburnum, pink stock, pink calla lilies and mini cymbidium orchids. The result was a stunning display of colour and texture that we absolutely loved! Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet made of roses, spray roses, stock, peonies and viburnum. Against their grey dresses they simply popped! The couples adorable daughter acted as flower girl and she proudly displayed her pretty pomander all day long.

The ceremony took place in a old chapel from 1848 on the grounds of the Markham Museum, which has been fully restored and is a truly charming space. Large white hydrangea blooms were tied to alternating wooden pews with grey satin ribbon as aisle makers. The altar was flanked by two large arrangements of hydrangea, roses, spray roses, stock & viburum.  As an added detail small arrangements of hydrangea, roses and spray roses were placed on each window sill clustered with candles.

The reception took place at Folco’s Restaurant on Main Street Markham. The wedding took over the entire restaurant for their event and utilized every square inch of the quaint space. Guests were seated at restaurant tables of 8-10 people with small arrangements of hydrangea, roses and spray roses along the length for a little pop of colour. Simply beautiful!
