Considering your venue when deciding on your wedding colour scheme is always a good plan. It helps keep a unified look throughout the space and you can highlight elements of the venue you love. When bride Kristy came to us seeking a black and white colour scheme for her wedding at the Grand Luxe in Toronto we knew she had picked perfectly. The venue is decorated with a monochromatic black, white and grey scheme so she was highlighting this venue’s best!
For the bridal bouquet Kristy wanted a contrasting white bouquet with black accents and lots of sparkle. We combined white hydrangea, full white roses, white gerbera daisies with black centers and black calla lilies to create this striking bouquet. Crystals were added to the centers of flowers and on the handle for pretty touches of sparkle.
The bridesmaids carried small bouquets of white hydrangea, white roses and black centered gerbera daisies for a small accent of black. Set against their grey dresses the look was subtle and elegant.
The ceremony was set up in the Grand Luxe ballroom and featured a backdrop made by the bride and groom in different shades of grey. Flanking the altar were to large white urns with white rose pomanders. Lining the aisle were alternating low arrangements of white hydrangea and clusters of floating candles in glass cylinders. Finished with a pristine white runner, the space was subtle and romantic.
While the guests enjoyed cocktails out in the foyer, the room was flipped to the reception. Seeking an all white room with crystal touches the centerpieces were alternating high and low centerpieces of white hydrangea and roses styled in a rounded globe.
The head table was decorated with the bouquets as well as the flowers and candles from the ceremony, so the entire length of the table was covered with flowers and twinkling candlelight.
The beautifully crafted wedding cake was a confection covered in white sugar flowers and grey ribbon trim. It matched the room perfectly and the craftsmanship was reflected in the beautiful all white sweet table too.
An excellent example of how beautiful a monochromatic look can be we thought this white wedding with touches of grey and black was beautifully simple. We wish Kristy and Jeff a long and happy marriage together!
