Another fabulous couple brought to us by top Toronto Wedding Planner, Arthur K of Fusion Events, Derek and Allan wanted something totally unique and non-traditional for their intimate late summer wedding. With a guest list of only 60 people, a fabulous loft space and a fun and quirky couple, we set out to design florals that would make a statement.
There was a strong emphasis on colour in this wedding. We crafted a pair of boutonnieres for the groom’s out of yellow craspedia, red hypericum berried, lisianthis buds and variegated greenery. Tied with twine these bout’s compliments their colourful, yet coorordinated wedding attire perfectly.
The loft space at 2nd Floor Events was being used for both the ceremony and reception. Instead of the traditional altar pieces we designed a colourful ceiling treatment that swagged down the aisle and waterfalled down to act as the ceremony backdrop. It made quite the statement!
Then it was time for the room flip. While guests sipped cocktails behind the lower room divider we set to work on the two gigantic gallery tables being used for the reception. We lined each table with square multi-level bud vases filled with colourful blooms and used numerous floating candles to create a romantic glow. Each vase combination was slightly different and we used, mums, dahlia’s, cabbage roses, spray roses, lisianthis, hypericum berries and snapdragons in varied tones of yellow, orange, fuchsia and green which matched the ceiling treatment from the ceremony. A bold use of colour in an otherwise very neutral space and the effect was spectacular!
We had so much fun designing for this couple and we were just as thrilled with the result as they were! Best wishes to Derek and Allan on a lifetime of love together!
