Bride Claire came to us with a wedding theme inspired by the ocean and all its wonderful shades of blue and green. But instead of using more typical seaside wedding elements like sand, stones & starfish she wanted the theme to be reflected only in the floral elements. So we sought out some unique blooms to bring Claire’s vision to life!
Claire’s bridal bouquet combined pale blue hydrangea with full white roses, vibrant blue orchids & while calla lilies. Her bridesmaids carried small bouquets of pale blue hydrangea, white roses, white alstroemeria & blue orchids which perfectly matched the royal blue of the groomsmen’s ties. All the men wore blue orchid boutonnieres to match.
For the ceremony we crafted a pair of large altar arrangements out of blue hydrangea, white roses & lots of green hanging amaranthus. The drippy quality of the amaranthus is so unique and reminiscent of sea kelp so it fit the ocean theme perfectly. We also filled paper cones with blue hydrangea and more amaranthus to line the aisle.
The reception room at Le Parc in Markham was transformed into a watery world with blue uplighting, silver textured linens and our floral centerpieces. Alternating tall and low centerpieces decorated each table. Low centerpieces contained blue hydrangea, white roses & hanging amaranthus cascading over and onto the table. Tall centerpieces made a big statement with blue hydrangea, white stock, blue dendrobium orchids and more of that fabulous amaranthus hanging down. Vases were filled with glass beads in shade of blue as a final touch.
We thought this wedding turned out exactly as we planned with ocean inspired flair in a non typical design. We wish the happy couple a lifetime of love in their marriage.
