When we first met with bride Lauren, she knew she wanted to incorporate a rich jewel toned purple into her wedding colour scheme for her late fall nuptials. She fell in love with purple mokara orchids when we showed them to her and the design took flight from there. Mixed with crisp white and silver accents the royal purple flowers added a little pop to her overall floral scheme.
The bridal bouquet combined crisp white commercial mums, purple edged lisianthus, picasso calla lilies, white roses and purple mokara orchids. The bouquet was finished off with a silver satin ribbon wrap with rhinestone trim.
The bridesmaids carried smaller, simpler versions of the bridal bouquet consisting of white roses, purple edged lisianthus, picasso calla lilies and mokara orchids. They contrasted beautifully with their rich purple floor length gowns.
Groomsmen sported picasso calla lilies for their boutonnieres with the groom’s including a small purple mokara bloom. Personal flowers for the family were fashioned with white spray roses and seeded eucalyptus.
The reception at Graydon Hall Manor featured guest tables dressed in dove grey linens with simple floral arrangements as centerpieces all featuring purple orchids. Alternating tables had either a display of tall curly willow branches with wired purple orchids or glass cylinders with submerged purple orchids and floating candles. Perched atop each napkin was a handmade origami crane, a nod to the bride’s Japanese heritage. The head table and mantlepieces were adorned with more submerged orchid arrangements with floating candles but included a lace wrap detail.
Best wishes to the happy couple and it was such a pleasure working with you both on your special day!
