Designing a wedding for another wedding professional can sometimes be intimidating, but when we were contacted by Alyssa of Alyssa Anne Events, we knew working hand in hand with her would be easy. As a wedding planner Alyssa had a very specific idea of what she wanted her day to look like, but also knew that she was hiring a fellow professional for a reason and placed her trust in us to execute her vision. So together we created a classic white wedding design befitting a fairytale, gorgeously captured by Ikonica.
Alyssa was definitely a classically oriented bride and there is nothing more classic than a bouquet of cascading white blooms. We fashioned her bouquet with roses, spray roses and dendrobium orchids accented with hints of greenery for a touch of contrast against her white gown. Greg’s boutonniere incorporated green thistles with a white rose as a nod to his Scottish heritage.
The ceremony was held at the breathtaking Merciful Redeemer Parish in Mississauga with it’s light and airy feel and grand open scheme. The aisle was lined with globes of full white hydrangea and roses on glass pedestal vases creating a regal entrance for the bride. Soft summer light filtered through the windows and the mounds of white flowers created a ethereal ambiance for the ceremony full of love and joy.
The reception at Carmen’s Banquet Centre in Hamilton featured the same white scheme now accented with gold touches. Tall golden candelabra’s draped with crystals held a large all white arrangements of hydrangea, roses and spray roses which exuded classic elegance. A full length floral garland of more lush white blooms covered the head table draped in soft white linen.
It was such a pleasure to work so closely with Alyssa in planning her dream day, and even better to hear it was everything she wanted and more. Huge congratulations to the happy couple on their marriage and best wishes for a long and lovely life together.
